One good conversation can feed a week of content. AI handles the slow parts, transcribing, finding the best moments and drafting the write-up, so you can spend your time on the parts that need your judgement.
The workflow
- Transcribe and edit in Descript. Import the recording. Descript creates a transcript you can edit like a document: delete a sentence in the text and it is cut from the audio and video. Remove filler words in one pass.
- Find the clips. Use Descript’s clip tools, or upload the episode to OpusClip, which looks for the most engaging moments and cuts them into vertical clips with captions.
- Write the show notes. Export the transcript and use the prompt below.
- Turn it into a blog post. Same transcript, different prompt.
Show notes prompt
Here is the transcript of my podcast episode, with timestamps. Write:
- A 2-sentence episode description for podcast apps.
- 6 to 10 timestamps with short, specific chapter titles (no clickbait).
- Every resource, book, tool or person mentioned, as a list.
- 3 pull quotes under 25 words, quoted exactly from the transcript.
Blog post prompt
Turn this transcript into a 900-word blog post for readers who haven’t heard the episode. Keep the guest’s best points and stories, use their exact words for quotes, and add subheadings. Write it as an article, not a recap (“In this episode…”). End with a link placeholder to the full episode.
Bottom line
Record once, edit by text in Descript, let a clip tool find the moments, and use two prompts for the written content. The admin side of an episode drops from an afternoon to under an hour.
Questions people ask
Do I need all three tools?
No. Descript alone covers transcription, editing and basic clips. Add a clip tool if you publish lots of short-form video, and a chat assistant for written content.
How accurate are AI transcripts?
Very good for clear audio, weaker with crosstalk, accents and jargon. Always check names, brands and numbers before publishing.
